5 days at Leavers'

[back from leavers'! probably was the awesomest 5 day period of this whole year, did so much, partied so hard, drank till i dropped... =P.. nah... not literally. =P. Man... missing da house alredi! anyhooz... we all lived so happily together and lazed so well these past few days... damn it was fun! XD hui hui]

Mandurah 72 read the road sign. We were officially off to our Leavers' Camp, at Capricon Mews in Mandurah! The colossal house that accommodated the 13 of us, the mini tennis court right at the front, the view from the balcony on the second storey, and the precisely 36 degrees outdoor spa that could house 8 people at one time... totally blew my mind when I first arrived. I could not stop myself from screeming, prancing, exploring, loving. Every moment at leavers' was simply unforgettable and joyous, that I'm sure we all already started to miss it when travelling back to the real world- back home!

Day 1... The Arrival of the Asian Invasion
Zong and I were the priviliged passengers in Ray's car, on the trip to our awesome house. Before we arrived, we were all starving, so decided to stop by the local supermarket for a bite to eat. Once inside, the fact was obvious- there were absolutely no Asians at that place except at the Japanese take-away store, where only about 3 people worked. Everyone was blatantly staring at us, giving us the spotlight unnecessarily. It gets even better, where later at the beach, the girls were approached by an old retired couple, where they asked: "Are you Japanese?" Assumptions? Yes. Tourist-looking? No! It was actually quite funny though, that a whole house of Asians totally invaded that quiet little town, facing the beach. Once we arrived, we unloaded the car, started to make a mess of the house, argued over sleeping places (so fun!)... then Zong and I headed down to the beach. Although rocky and unbelievably windy, we finally found a suitably
shielded place, and layed down for some baking. Laying comfortably under the sun (trying to even out my horrendous tan lines), listening to the waves, talking to Zong about everything and anything- life could not be better. The others stayed home (yes, home)- the girls made Scoobies, whilst the boys played tennis (with the exception of Mel).

Pasta was our first meal together at the house; and learning to use the stove and dishwasher was definitely an experience. Followed by a game of Cherades and Monopoly, the night could not have been better. To top it all off, the "rebellious" third of us rummaged through our 'stock', where the oh-so-professional Jer made us lushes drinks. I believe I liked the Midori cocktail the best. At 10pm, the 7 of us jumped into the outdoor spa, and enjoyed the orgasmic treatment. Unbelievable. That night, none of us slept very well as we were very excited about the events of the next day, and Andu eventually had to get some shut eye in the morning, as he was one of the designated drivers. This night, the worse prank took place- Andu, Leong and Ray altered the hands on the clock, so that the time was 2 hours ahead of reality. I slept at 12.30am, got woken up at 3.30am, believing that it was 5.30am. Frustration! It did not matter though, as the trip was already a lot better than expected, and I was in for the time of my life.

Day 2... The Congregation Constituting Celebrations
Feeling cheated, wasted, aggravated... the morning jog felt fantastic, other than the fact that a local lady walked past saying hi, continuing with something along the lines of "youall are crazy."- well, it was 5.30am, since the clock at home was 2 hours ahead! The girls also went for a stroll later on, and when we all came back, we had so much time on our hands that we lazed around in disbelief, disgust, distraughted. However, the day took a good turn when other beloved started to arrive for the massive celebration of the day- the merriment of Mel, Mei, Tiff and Sherms birthdays (it was the actual day of Tiff's birthday!). The guest list was as follows: Mei, Ming, Ken, Reeny (Sexy!), Wan Tat, Chingy (Sexyback!), Matt (Doutei!), Vincent, Ness, Joan, Deb, Sarah- with all these people plus the 13 of us, we got the party started.

It all started with the slow arrival of different groups, but we eventually commenced the barbeque ceremony. Whilst others were cooking, I was camwhoring, and with the playboy bathers... I made a magazine cover. Interested? Go to Andu's blog and find out! After the munching and crunching, most of us headed down to the beach. Closing my eyes with my arms out stretched Titanic style, the wind blowing tenderly, cameras snapping constantly, this day was definitely one of the most enjoyable. Also watching Leong posing masculine style, Ching and I faking the infatuated poses, all of us carving memories on dried cuttle fish... unforgettable. After getting sunburnt with satisfaction, we headed back to cut the customary cake. The girls received presents, we took normal and silly photos, and once again, I was back to camwhoring. It's just so irresistable!

I was lucky enough to take a glance at the sunset this night, as I missed it last night cooking, and it was simply divine. The clear, beautiful, still picture added so much more feeling to the friendships at our home. This night I took a chance and made myself tipsy, experimenting with my image as a drunk. Turned out that I am the happy type, where I feel like singing, laughing and talking in a high pitched voice. Altogether it was awesome, Leong even vacuumed the carpet a little as it was just so dirty, and we all went to bed hyped, with Jer and Mel seemingly pretending to be. This night, Matt and Sarah stayed over, and Mei, Ming and Joan stayed later compared to the others, but everyone was simply overworked today with excitement and joy that the night slipped by... of course after a lengthy soak in the out door spa though!

Day 3... The Settling of Tranquility
After partying so hard the night before, today was a day of relaxation. Magazines were flipped, the couch was slept on, the MP3s were blaring (as was the Xbox)... and it marked the end of the overnight-stayers, where Andu took them to the bus stop to go home.

The girls ate pears, the boys played on the Xbox, a mixture of both were then filling up water bombs in the afternoon. Despite the hot sun and being totally sun burnt, the water bomb fight was carried out in the early hours of the afternoon, where I risked my skin and had the most splendid time! Jer played with an unfair advantage of attacking from the second floor, but the rest of us fired from below, across at each other, in the game of life and death. Even though it took a few hours of strong, hard labour to fill the bombs, it took probably less than 10 minutes to finish all ammunition, where the war was over, with probably Ray being the wettest. It felt so good... so... hyped, exciting... childish.

As we were in contact with water already, we then decided to take a walk at the beach, followed by a visit to the nearby playground. Here, we filmed our adventures of overcrowding a child's entitled equipment, as well as an awesome opening scene for hopefully our official Leavers' Video, by Leong. On the way back, a Westlife styled sequence was taken by me of the 4 boys, where the turns were synchronized, with singing in the background. The joy of fooling around!

Tonight's dinner was one of the healthiest of all, consisting of Kantong-flavoured-Chinese-dishes with rice vermicelli. After the filling meal, the first round of the "cherades competition" begun, where we were all involved and split into 2 teams, trying to out-mime each other. So exciting! The game probably ended up with a draw, as it always happened, but we all had loads of fun- our cooperation when living with each other was simply indescribable. Today was such a splendid day where we all wounded down.

Day 4... The Looming of Inevitable Separation
Yet another lazy day, we all further wounded down today. Despite being at home, we all found things to do to entertain ourselves; and today, I spent a considerable amount of time with the girls and Andu.

It started with learning to make a Scooby with the girls, where Debbie and Cheryl were the masterminds and teachers. I had a subtle competition with Tiff, which turned out rather funny, which Mel later joined, but totally without succes. We all had so much fun though! Today was also mad hair day, and Li kindly re-styled my hair to exhibit the gorgeous cheerleader aura. I absolutely loved the hair-do!

After the exciting morning events, I went for a walk down at the beach with Andu. Everyone else wasn't interested, so we took our sweet, sweet time and walked to the other end of the beach along the footpath- until there was no more footpath to follow! The other end of the beach was actually a lot nicer and one could actually swim in it, but by then, we figured that it was too late to tell the others anyway. Being careful not the get sun burnt and all, we had an awesome time walking and chatting, wishing that our trip would not end. When we got home, everyone was out at places at their hearts' content, so we started taking random pictures and video, to show our loneliness. It wasn't with a sad tone though, as nothing could ever be sad at Leavers'. When the evening arrived, I went down to the beach again with the girls and took plenty of photos- of us, of the sunset, of the unique cloud cover.

This night burritos were for dinner, followed by the most, seriously, the most scrumptuous dessert, which Andu and I shared as an experience. A tall glass filled with vanilla ice cream, accompanied by melted Nutella oozing from top to bottom (and freezing in the middle...), with a beautiful finish of a strawberry centre piece on top. Drooling? You should be! After the satisfying meals, the second round of cherades begun, finishing with the exploration of tampons, at a happy note. Tonight was sleepless, as we prepared to capture the first glimpse of light of the next day.

Day 5... The Depature Completed with Memorabilia
At 4.30am, the girls and I played tennis for a while, waiting for the sun rise. We finally rushed to the hilltops to take a peek... but only disappointed was present. The cloud cover was overwhelming, nothing distict could be observed. We sat on the footpath looking homeless and tired, followed by a fruitless walked back home.

Pancakes were served, followed by sleep. I managed to squeeze in 2 hours before the final pack up and departure, which was totally not enough, but definitely satisfying. There was more action when 7 o'clock came by, where nearly everyone was up and about, singing (Leong), packing (most of us), eating (Mel and Jer) and of course, still sleeping (Andu). Before we left, group photos were taken; and I took snap shots of our beloved house, forever capturing the time we shared during our stay there.

The trip back was quite good, this time in Andu's car. We sang most of the way, trying to keep Andu awake, while Mel and Jer slept at the back seat.

Home... we were leaving one, but approaching another one so soon. That feeling of end was once again upon our shoulders, much like the ending of school,. Except this time, there was no stress factor, but onli... happiness.

And so the party starts...!!!

[leavers' camp tomolow! SO EXCITED! probs cant sleep tonight.. =P=P... ah wellz... gonna hav good company and tonnes of fun! damn i can't wait! hui hui]

Tick, tick, tick... "Please stop work now."

Were those words the greatest music to my ears! Tuesday afternoon, 5.10pm marked the end of my TEE exams. Even though it was 5 days after when most people finished, even though we had to travel all the way to Canning College to take the exam, even though the room was filled with people from all over this district... we were all freed at the same time, by the same person, in the same room. Despite being teased endlessly before this exam took place, the days passed by quite quickly without much pain- nothing matters anymore, what matters now is that, we've done it.

The whole year's preparation for this short period of 3 weeks played its part; and sadly, will very soon be forgotten by the relieved everyone of us. People say that a lot of weight have been lifted from their shoulders, less expectations will now hold- everyday is a light and refreshing breeze, blowing directionless, purposeless, careless. With the many of us going to Leavers' Camp, the home town shall be slightly less polluted by noise, joyous screems, disco music. We will all soon be back though, to then pursue somewhat more purposeful conquests- of working the odd jobs for that oh-so-important pocket money; of cleaning out one's room as the mother's continuous nagging is quite intolerable; of finding a long lost interest back and repairing the damage.

The most stressful year of one's life- I have experienced it. Leaving the institute that one has been with for the past 5 years- I am experiencing it. Giving up time, emotions, thoughts for that one sole purpose- I have and will continue to experience it.

School is out!

Luck... really?

[feeling quite lousy at the moment. this blog might be a bit emo... but nah... dis was somethin i was tolkin to joel about da other day... shuld b kinda interesting =). hui hui]

Luck.
"Good luck!"
"I'm feeling lucky today!"
"Sorry, bad luck..."
"The stars just aren't working in my favour."
"It's my lucky day!"

We hear these phrases often enough, but we never pause to think about what they really mean. Do we say them because we genuinely mean it, or do we say them because these are just sayings that have been used in certain situations that has now become tradition? Whatever the reason you say it for, I hope it has some sort of meaning behind it. Just recenlty, I have avoided the usage of luck, as I simply do not believe in it at the extent to which I would hope it follows another.

I think that luck does exist somewhat, in its intangible, persisting manner, as sometimes things either go the way you want it to or the total opposite, and you have totally no control over it. For example, you may have been to an interview with another person who was basically as qualified as you were, but on that day you just happened to be in a bad mood or something happened that made you upset, and you simply could not present yourself with the right state of mind, which made the other person stand out over you. Let's take even more realistic examples: that day when you got hit by a bird's excretion; or that day when you were splashed with muddy water as a car went past. Some things cannot be explained without using the word "luck", but I think a lot of things can.

I do not wish people "good luck" for their exams but "best wishes" because if one worked hard, it will pay off, luck would not play a part; and by "best wishes", I mean it as the receiver being able to perform well as they have worked for it. If a misfortune happened to someone and it could be either explained via their/other people's actions, situation, comments etc, it is again not valid to say "bad luck".

I suppose in our society today, we use it as a simple expression of gladness as something happened the way we intended, or something unexpected happened in a pleasant way that made us happy. It is not so much the meaning behind it anymore, rather the expression.

L.u.c.k... do you think it exists?

Love is on all our minds

[man... relli hope i can drink tonnes at leavers... i need to get pissed! =P... ah wellz... i'll just get pissed slowly, or wake up looking emo, coz i would've been scratching all night long. =P. Hui Hui]

Could not wake up properly today, could not respond to my alarm. Could not bring myself to concentrate, could not stop the conversations. One thing was quite obvious today though, the fact that love is on all our minds.

After teaching the girls this morning, filling in for Jen and Mel, I headed off to the Riverton library to continue my "study" for the TEE. Note: "study". Today's study plan was basically ruined, not that it's a bad thing (even though it probably is at this point in time), as I had time to bond with friends, to talk about anything and everything. Despite the bizzare questions posed by Deb, conversations drifted towards the issue of love. Here are some examples of what was said today:

"If you had to go out with a transition metal, which one would you go out with?"
"So you don't like Asian guys?"
"Would you go out with it? [directed at my white out]"
"I'm only attracted to Asians."

These are the most outstanding lines that I remember from today's fun-filled afternoon at the Local History block of the library. I also found out that P has his Ps, both in Australia and in Christmas Island. Amazing. Anyway, I suppose at this age, this topic is probably the most frequently visited, the most frequently questioned, the most frequently critiqued. It just suddenly stood out to me today and also suddenly struck me, that if a conversation lasts long enough, something relating to love is bound to come up. Normal? Yeah, I think so.

Allergy to Alcohol... LEAVERS!?!?

[whoa... long time to post! ><... the last post that stuffed up actually published itself! XD... pretty awesome stuff, blogger! yes... nehooz... juz decided to write a bit before my next exam... got one day's break =). hui hui]

Came back from my physics exam, the awesome Ray took me home. Had dinner with Mom, bro was watching futurama, feasting while letting his eyes feast simultaneously. Mom and I were at the dinner table, we were chatting away merrily about today and my exam etc. etc.- and I decided to drink the cruiser vivacious Viv gave me, Blueberry Vodka Cruiser.

Everything was fine afterwards, Mom was spoiling me so bad that she drove me to IGA to get mud cake just because I was craving it like a pregnant woman, but once I finished dinner completely and went to take a shower, I saw the bizzare reflection of myself in the bathroom mirror. My face was blotchy, my thigh was itchy, which was much the same as other parts of my body! Is this a sign? Is this a sign to tell me that I'm allergic to alcohol? Does that mean I can't drink uncontrollably at Leaver's camp? Is it? Is it!??!!?!?

Before, at after parties and gatherings, I normally drink about 2-3 cruisers and I never seemed to have felt these effects. Maybe it was the short time phrame this time, which resulted in these weird effects. I usually finish one cruiser in about an hour (one would be very occupied at parties and not always drinking), but this time only in about 10 minutes. I hope this isn't a serious sign, because my dream of those wasted days after TEE would not be able to come true!
